The Auburn University Beekeeping Symposium will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the AU Lowder Business Building, 415 West Magnolia Ave., Auburn, AL.
The keynote speaker is, Paul Jackson, Chief Apiary Inspector, Texas Apiary Inspection Services. Mr. Jackson will talk on Africanized Honey Bees and Inspecting Hives/Reading Frames. Other speakers include Dr. James E. Tew, ACES Specialist in Beekeeping; Sallie Lee and Phillip Carter, ACES; Dennis Barclift, Apiary Section, AL Dept. of Ag & Industries and many others.
Some topics include Cooking with Honey, Gardening, Giving Talks to Schools, Raising Queens and Taking Bees out of Houses and others.
There will be a Basic Beekeeping track for people who are interested in beekeeping and not sure how to get started or just beginning in beekeeping. This will taught by the Alabama Beekeepers Association.
